SPOILER ALERT: If you weren’t aware, every board has its own calendar. I know, I KNOW. It’s a workflow game changer. We think effectively mastering the Calendar Power Up deserves a reward of tacos, because nothing screams due date mastery quite like a celebration over folded tortillas filled with delicious whatever-ye-may.
Here are some tips to attack your agenda with newfound alacrity:
If you are a big fan of assigning due dates to tasks and are looking to visualize those tasks in a whole new way then enable your board’s calendar, like, now. Go on, we’ll wait a second. It’s right over there in the Power-Ups section of the board menu. Got it enabled? Nice!
So what are some exciting ways you can utilize this new Hulk-level power that your board has achieved? One of our favorite uses of the calendar power-up is for our marketing team’s editorial calendar. Anyone on the team can see when posts are scheduled to be published and can prepare accordingly, whether that means graphic design or preparing copy for social media. Speaking of social media, we’ve seen some great uses of the calendar to plan out posts.
Another great use of the calendar power-up is for all the event planners out there. Whether you’re planning a conference, a wedding, or a trade show, it’s important to not only manage all the tasks it takes to organize an event, but to also be able to visualize those tasks as the big event comes near.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Here are some Trello calendar tips that certainly can’t be replicated by the one that you’ve got hanging over there on your office wall. (Psst! It’s no longer May.)
Change of plans? Simply drag & drop a card onto a new date on the calendar and the due date will update automatically.
Every calendar has an iCal feed in the calendar’s settings that can be integrated with third party calendars like Google, iCal and Sunrise. This is an easy way to keep tabs on all your life’s events.
Board filtering also works in the calendar view! Just tap “f” and select the criteria by which you would like to filter your calendar. Voila!
