Gone are the days of the pony express. Keeping track of packages and shipments shouldn't be as laborious as heading to the local Western Union to receive confirmation that a package came across the cable for you.
That's why we're excited to announce the new Package Tracking Power-Up powered by Shippo, available for Trello Business Class or as your board’s free Power-Up. There's no reason in this modern age that you shouldn't know in a single glance where all your orders are located.
Put the homing pigeon out to pasture. Trello is now tracking your packages.
Now you can attach package tracking numbers from FedEx, USPS, UPS, LaserShip, DHL, and more (incl. international services) straight to your Trello cards. Simply copy and paste the tracking number into the input field and select the carrier. (Bonus: 9 times out of 10, Trello will auto detect the carrier for you!)
Trello will pull in the current status of the package, any stops it's made along its journey, and the estimated date of arrival. The card front will get a slick badge displaying green when the package has been delivered. A yellow badge with the estimated arrival date appears if it's in transit, and a red badge if you need to get on the horn to see what's up.
So let's say your IT team has a Trello board to keep track of new computer orders, requests for new tablets, or making sure the right equipment is delivered to a remote hire. Now anyone on your team can see where his or her new iPad is, or whether they are going to have to sit a few more days until their standing desk arrives, by simply assigning that team member to their card and attaching any relevant tracking numbers.
Or maybe you own a custom bike shop with the goal of building the ultimate urban ride: a single gear, lightweight dream machine with all of today's hottest alloys. In today's Yelpified world, top notch customer service is the essence of any growing business.
Whenever a bike leaves the shop, slap that tracking number onto the respective order's Trello card and make sure everything arrives on time. If something looks awry you can reach out to your customer before they (gasp!) even consider leaving a negative review.
Here’s one more scenario: It’s pretty popular in many client based industries to send corporate holiday gifts to clients as a thank you. Keep track of all those Edible Arrangements being shipped to your most valuable clients by creating a card for each gift sent.
This way, next time you have a big meeting with a client, you’re getting accolades for your excellent taste and not saving face for a gift misplaced.
The Package Tracking Power-Up now supports over a dozen different carriers! Visit our help article to see the full list.
